SpringFest is brought to you by the Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors (AACAR)! 100% of all proceeds will benefit local charities.

Here is a glimpse of this year’s recipients and a little about their organizations.

Anne Arundel Community College Realtor Scholarship: The AACAR has established a scholarship fund for local Realtors and their families in order for higher education to be more accessible.

Anne Arundel Food Bank: The food bank is located in Crownsville. They stock over 146 pantries through out the county. They need year round support Remember hunger takes no holidays.

Friends of Arundel Seniors: This local organization helps seniors with housing repairs, helping make sure their homes are safe. So these senior citizens can remain in their homes for as long as possible.

YMCA of AA County: The local YMCA has after school programs they promote to the local area children, gives them some place to go after school with instructional programs from swimming, assisting with homework, reading, hands on projects to exercise.

Anne Arundel Public School Back to School Program: This program supplies back packs and school supplies to local children so they start the school year with everything they need to get them off to a successful year. The program is also working on getting parents involved more in the local schools and education programs.

CASA: Is located in Annapolis. This organization helps foster children who are caught up the court system. Volunteers assist the children in court cases, and mentor them in areas they need help in. Currently there are over 2500 children in the system and CASA does not have enough volunteer or funds to help them all. They do their best with what they have.

Cliff Roop Cardiac Support: was founded in memory of Anne Arundel County Council member Cliff Roop. Their goal is to have defibulator in all government buildings, county parks, police stations etc. So far they have 46 machines in the various communities and have saved 3 lives to date.

Partners in Care: in their 15th year they serve over 2200 seniors in the county. Escorting them to doctor’s appointments, drug stores, labs, etc., and making small repairs in the senior’s homes. This is an all volunteer organization. Volunteers contribute their time and that counts like a bank account of time for when they need assistance with their family members. Then someone else will donate time for them. It works really well.

Maryland Theraputic Riding: MTR works with the natural healing and therapeutic power of horses to improve the quality of life of children, adults, active military and veterans with special needs. Our premier, accredited, high-quality programs open new pathways of healing for children and adults with a wide range of physical, mental, and emotional challenges.

Boys and Girls Club of AA County: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County ensures success is within reach for every young person in Anne Arundel County. Our six Clubhouses serve youth from the ages of 6 to 18  during the critical hours when school is out – after school, during school breaks and during the summer.

This event will be hosted at The Johns Hopkins House, Inc., the birthplace and childhood home of Johns Hopkins. Please check out their website for more information and help restore this historic site.
